EGEDI, born with a passion for art, began expressing himself as early as age 4, painting walls with crayons (much to the dismay of his parents…).
He studied at art schools in Hungary, the Netherlands, and the UK, although he was often expelled. Despite this, he formed lasting friendships that continue to result in collaborative projects today.
At age 18, he created his first calligraphic typeface. Calligraphy is a language he continually transforms and speaks through his art. His works, crafted using European calligraphy tools, evoke a sense of ancient timelessness. His art finds homes in diverse spaces, from festivals and urban streets to galleries, public spaces, and private collections.
He received his first Artpen at age 13 from his father, and on the very same day, he was somehow able to write the letters of Gothic Textura Quadrata. Today, the during the transformation of the ancient symbols he paints conveys profound meanings.
This is an ever-growing vocabulary of sacred symbols. The codex began to emerge for the artist in 2022, during the passing of his mother – hence the sacredness of the inspiration.
The First Codex of Egedi is a physical object: a hand-bound leather book measuring 45 cm x 30 cm x 7 cm. It contains 100 pages of handcrafted, laid paper, with each page dedicated to a single symbol.

He had a strong fascination with reading as many holy texts as he could. He focused on ancient cultures such as Hindu, Tibetan, Arabic, Hebrew, Mayan, and Egyptian. Admiring great artists like Amanda Sage, Alex Grey, and H.R. Giger, Egedi’s work consistently conveys the message:
“There is more Beyond.”
Currently, Egedi aims to draw attention to this one specific message.
It sparks curiosity and explores the metaphysical aspects of existence and the afterlife, reflecting on different cultures’ views on death, altered reality, and related experiences.
